which had been a. benefit fob the farmers as a whole. The market conditions were not the best when they started, but still the Company bail done well, paying out to their suppliers upwards of £12,000 for the season. In r Parry, their Manager, they had a man of many parts. He had built a factory oi|ual to anything ill New Zealand, and he was capable also of running the factory successfully. Personally he looked forward to a good season. The indications already were that it would be much better than previously. He felt constrained to say that it was to the interest of the farmers to support the central factory both as shareholders and suppliers as the source from which they must incvtablv enjoy the greatest return in Lite long tun. Mr R. A. llar.nurt seconded the motion, which was supported by Mr J. J. Mclntosh and Mr C. J. Nightingale. all of whom endorsed the Chairman’s remarks. The motion was carried. Mr Moynihan asked if it would not lie possible to have three tests a month, instead of two. The Chairman replied that it was intended to have four tests a month one every week. Hut fur the tact that the staff had been over busy of late, that system would have been introduced before.
Mr Parry intimated that testing entailed a lot of work, and lie gave an interesting explanation on the scientific side of testing. IL* stated it would lie in the interests of the Company to have the weekly tests, and that would have been done, but tor tbe pressure of other work up to the present.

The operations of the O .mpany had resulted, and would continue to result, in the advantage to the fanning community. Higher prices would prevail for luitterlat higher than otherwise with the central factory opciating. They were now paying Is 7d. In September their output bad been 5 tons. been very satisfactory and the orders now in augured well for the iiituro. The Company had a special testing room and lie advocated the settlers having their cows tested. In some instances he believed settlers were losing 50% through retaining robber cows in their herds. They should feed to the best advantage. By top-dressing their land the feed would improve. They should use more lime. It was readily pmciirahle in the district now, and manures could he purchased from Christchurch.
