Recently a township was laid off at Wailto Gorge and sections offered for selection. There lias been quite a demand for the sections, applications still coming in. If mining matters south give indication of prospering there is sure to he a rush for sections, and a township will speedily materialise. Extra accommodation will be required most certainly if a large dredge Is placed on the Wailto flat and ilie district will flourish nota-nly.

There is said to lie enquiry for sections at Okarito, which promises to become a more popular tourist resort than heretofore. The township is favored bv its fine lagoon of such extent, and affording such attractions for fishing and shooting, to say nothing of motor boat excursions. From the Okarito beach there is a fine panoramic view of the Southern Alps. It will certainly be not surprising to find Okarito coining more and more into favor as it holiday resort.
