RUATAPU BALL.
The inaugural Druids Ball at lluatapu took place on Wednesday evening when D() couples took the Hour, 'the bull was conducted by the ltuatapu Druids to assist in the building iuitd of the Lodge. Visitors were present from as far north as Greymouth and as far sooth as Boss. 'lhe Grand March was led hy the officers of the hedge West land No 8D in full regalia, the music being supplied by members of the Royal (Irehe.stra—Messrs Lawn (piano). Gibbous (piccolo), Boss (cornet). The hall was tastefully decorated by the ltuatapu Druids, assisted by their lady friends. A sumptuous supper was provided by the ladies of ltuatapu, and amply done justice to by everyone. A special feature of the evening was the singing of Miss Wilson of Ruatapu ("Honeymoon”) and Mrs Findlay of Hokitika (“On the Shores of the Aegean Sea"), and as an encore “My Ain Folk”. In the Official Set the regalia Worn hv the ladies was as follows:--Miss M. Haines, D. 8.: Miss G. Worsley A.D.: Miss li. Wilson. J.P.A.: Mrs W. Wilson C.A.; .Mrs B. Ifaines l’.A.; Miss I. Shadbolt, !.(!,; Mrs .1. Kindlay I*.A. ; MMs V. Haines A7D.IL : Miss M Mancra A.D.B. The Ball which finished at 2.0 a. in. was voted to bo one of the most successful functions ever held in Ruatapu and speaks well for Bros. Mancra, Wilson, Minlo, and all those who assisted them in their first clfort. The Committee wish to announce that ihe Ball vill take place annually. Bro. K. Kearns, of Hokitika officiated as M.C.
