ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. LARGE YARDING STORE CATTLE. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. ’Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep.—-There was a much larger yarding than last week, mostly ewes and lambs, and generally, of very indifferent quality. A few pens of shorn wethers were offered and met with a good sale. Good sorts of ewes and Jambs also sold well, hut inferior and travelled were hard to sell. What few hoggets wore in, also met with a good sak\ Best ewes and lambs, all counted, made 81s (id to 2fis Id, aged and inferior l ! 7s bd to 21s, forward shorn wethers 80s l()d to 87s lid, ilbred wether hoggets 88s lid to .’3ss 8(1,' extra good to lls 2d. Store Cattle.—There was an exceptionally large yarding in this department, including one line of 100 13, 1 and b year old bullocks. -All classes met with a guild sale and many buyers went a,way with requirements unfilled. Best 1 and b yr. old steers £(i lbs to £8 igs (id, 7! year steers £b bs to £(i 10s, yearling ditto up to 80s, yearling heifers 17s to .lbs, cows 80s to 77s till. Beef—A much larger yarding than last week, comprising IGb head. There was only one small line of North Islanders and these were held over from last week. The market was slightly easier all round. Nevertheless, the saie must he considered a good one. Prime steers made £l7 lbs to £2O 10s, extra to £2O 7s Oil, medium £lb to £l7 ius, lighter £l2 lbs to £ll 10s, others down to £O, prime heifers £l2 to £ll K>s, extra £l7 7s (id, medium co 10s to £ll Jos, others down to £0; prime cows £ll. to £l3 lbs, extra to £lB, medium £8 lbs to £lO lbs, others down to £1 10s.
Store pigs—A medium entry anil considering the sharp drojf in baconers, the market held remarkably well and all classes sold readily on n par with lust weeks’ rates. 'Values were: *Weani'ts 21s to 275, extra, to .‘Jbs, small stores 3bs to 12s, medium In 18s, largo to bis. No sows in pig were offering. Fat pigs.—A medium entry. Porkers sold readily at late rates, whilst the demand for baconers was much easier than of late, showing a decline on light haeoners of lo,s to 12s and on heavy about lbs. Values were: JJglit porkers £2 10s to £2 lbs, heavy £2 17s 0(1 to £.'l lbs Id, average Oil to 10d; light baconers £3 18s to £1 Bs, heavy £1 10s to £b, average 7il to 8d; choppers £2 10s to £O. Mutton.—There was an entry a good deal larger than last week including one line of about 000, shorn sheep from Blenheim; also 100 extra special woolly ewes from the North Island. The market opened somewhat easier than list week and this drop was more apparent with regard to shorn sheep. Tho market, in our opinion, showed nil average drop of Is to Is Oil. but considering the large yarding the sale was a good one.
