WELLINGTON, Oct. It. LEGLSLATIYE COUNCIL. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.ni. In the unavoidable absence of the Speaker, Hon (). Samuel presided. The Council decided to insist upon its amendment in Clause 14 of the Police Offences Amendment Bill. The Government Railways Amendment Bill was read a lirst time. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The following Bills were introduced by Governor’s message:—Education Amendment. Railways Authorisation Bill, Poultry Industry Control Bill, Native Trustee Amendment. In tin 1 course of a statement the Prime Minister said he saw no reason why the session should not finish by the end of the present month. The House then went into committee on the Motor Vehicles Bill, the discussion lasting until 1.20 a.m. when the Minister moved to report progress. intimating he had several amendments to propose in the schedules. The House rose at 1.25 a.m. till 2.30 p.m.
