The recent choice of cricket selectors has been followed by ft Controversy between ’Warwick Armstrong and EBeau (Secretary of the Victorian CmUet Association) who was chosen as one of the selectors. Armstrong declared Lean lacked the cricket experience necessary lor ac * cepting such a position. Bean replied that nobody took notice of what Armstrong said, and that when the hist team was being chosen, Armstrong declared McDonald was not worth iv howler’s bootlace. Rush (Secretary of the Victorian Association and a. member of the Board of Control) points out that Bean was elected unanimously by the Board of Control, adding that no one takes any notice of Armstrong’s opinion in regard to international cricket. Armstrong, declining to continue the controversy said they were just the remarks one would expect and were not worth replying to.
