Harry Kemp, seaman, and Ueter Gray, fireman, on the s.s. Ngaturo were charged at Westport, before Air IT. p. I.awry, S.AI.. on Saturday with theft of four pairs of .boots valued at £(j los from the Empire Hotel. Both men pleaded guilty, were fined £1 on each of four cluii'Kos ami «»r«ler<xl to pay the cost of the boots, which, after taking aboard the vessel, they had thrown into the river.
