ELLIOTT v. “WORKER.” WELLINGTON, October 13.

The Chief Justice to-day decided that the case Howard Elliott against the “ New Zealand Worker ” and John Glover, publisher, an action for alleged libel, will he heard in the Magistrate’s Court. Sir R. Stout .said that there were no unusual on difficult questions of law involved. The Legislature had provided that such cases should lie heard in the .Magistrate’s Court. The case will probably collie on next week.

Coroner Ralliolumew held an inquest concerning the death of John Henry Millie, who was knocked down by a motor car driven by James Samuel Burrows, aged 18, on September 30. The coroner in giving a verdict ol accidental dentil intimated that while not able to make positive the fixture of culpability, lie was not satisfied that a careful driver giving full attention to the road ahead, would not have seen Hie hoy who had run 30 feet across the road before being .siruck.
