The death of Airs Catherine Cooper, took place at Wellington on Sunday. Deieased, who was HI years of ape, was ill the early days, a well-known figure in Greymouth and Hokitika. Her late husband was engaged in the erection of the Duke of Edinburgh Theatre at Hokitika in the early days. Deceased leaves a family of nine, live daughters (Mrs (’. McPherson, of Grcyinouth. Mrs C. 1 ley non, of I'etone. AUs T. Robinson. of Hokitika, Mrs Shaddick of AVangaiiui and Mrs .7. Stringer of Nelson) and four sons (George, at IDmanga, Fred at Karori. AVilliam at Westport, and Watson at Wellington' The remains arc being brought. to Greyniouth. and the funeral takes place to Knroro cemetery on Friday.
