There has been an increase of (>!)L----887 in the number of sheep owned in New Zealand, despite heavy losses in some of the South Island counties lasi year. The figures are as follows: Totals Increase. South Island 10.207.1Wf) 25.282 North Island 18.178.717 000,054 22.775,770 0!) 1.227 The detailed figures show almost uniform increases in the North Island counties, 1011, there are notable decreases in parts of the South Island. The largest increase in the Dominion is in Ashburton county, viz., 48,(17!): w hich brings its thicks to a total of 800,800.

Mr Xosworlhy's answer was that lie knew nothing about the legislation. The hoard lie had mentioned was the reconstitution of the Wool Committee, on similar lines to a former committee, which had arranged the offerings for auction. The authority cpioted by Air Follies was not always reliable.
