(From Our Correspondent). (In Saturday evening iu the Totara Hall a farewell social was tendered io Miss D. Wool house who is shortly leaving Ross for Nelson. At an interval during the evening Dev. J. I!. Young stated, in the absence of the Mayor through illne-s, l.e had been asked to make a presentation to Miss Woodlouse. They were ail very sorry that “Dnssy" was having the district, ns during the past few years she had been ot great assistance iu connection with all the social events of the town. Kspeeinllv had she been of service to the Football Club, during the past season she had been their oMieial gate-keeper, had assisted them with their socials and in many other wavs.

In addition to being a sport "Dnssy” had keen a very earnest church worker. In this respect he personally appreciated her able services verv much and realized her position would be bard to till. Rev. Young then asked Miss A\ onlhonso’s acceptance of two very handsome presents, one from the Ross I* .C. and the other from tin' (.’linreli, in appreciation of her splendid services. These gift-; would seivo to remind her of Ro.-f; and of her many friends. They wished her Ion;; life, .success and happiiu'ss. Mr 11. (Liners replied on hehall of .Aliss AA'oolhouse and slated “Unsay” wished him to say she had never oxpectod any recompense lor the small services rendered and she.thanked them all for the lovely gifts that had been presented to her, which she would treasure. and which would serve to remind her of her many friends in Ro>s.
