BOY SCOUTS.
(Contributed.) This is the Troop liirlliilay of the dud Hokitika Scouts and Cubs, and the week is likely to be one of tbc busiest they have iiad since last suilimer. Tile last week-end was spent by some of the boys in camp at .South Spit, and Dominion Day was celebrated by a rally there on Monday morning. Monday evening saw the last Court of llonout before the re-election of Patrol headers, and on Tuesday, besides the usual Pack mootin'; in the afternoon and Troop meelin;; in the evening, there was the annual meeting, open to the public, at which the executive committee and the Scout-master presented their respective reports. 'i’o-nij;ht, 'lhursday, the troop and pack are havin'' their birthday party at St. Andrew’s Hall, which is, from the boys’ point of view, a very important event indeed. Saturday, weather pertainin';, sees an explorin'' expedition set out to discover a site for the lull,our Day camp.
Hoih troops intend to take part in r. verv extra special treasure hunt in the Hear future, and a suggestion that tliev shall combine forces for the celebration of Trafalgar Day is to be considered at the Scout-master's Meeting which Is Dost polled for ibis week to
'■.oil p.m. next Thursday at Ibe Scout room the postpoiiinent being oil account of the dud Troop " linn bight’ to-night. Cub R. McCarthy gained his lir.-l star, while David Chisholm passed the tests and was enrolled as a Iciidcrloot during the week-end.
