Roy Thompson, aged 20. received severe internal injuries, with slight concussion, while riding in the Kingr,huid Hurdles, at Avondale. His horse (,' 'iieral Iti.e. fell ah a fenee. rolling on him. Thompson is in the hospital in a serious condition.
BALLYMENA UPTURNING. SYDNEY. Sept. 22. In view of li is win on Saturday, the hope was expressed that Knight might revoke his decision to send Ballymena hack to New Zealand before fulfilling his Randiviek spring meeting engagements. Mr Knight, however, stated that, Ballymena would leave for borne in Friday, unless the unexpected happened. and he had no reason to expect it would—meaning, unless the Jockey Cliih Committee reopened the Royal Dispatch case. It is understood that Air Knight's action is a protest against the disqualification of l'\ D. Jones and .Maurice AfcC'arteii. in both of whom lie expresses his utmost confidence.
