Dull was excused owing to recent illness. His Honour, addressing the Grand Jury, said there was only one case to come before them, in connection with an alleged burglary at Stephens’ shop early in the present year. A young man named Gibbons was charged with having broken and entered Stephens shop, ami stealing watches and other articles: a further charge ol stealing and further with having received, knowing the articles to have been stolen. The peculiarity about the ease was that one man has already stood his trial for the same ofletiee .and he was acquitted. The principal evidence in the case was that a witness, who, if his evidence were true, was probably an accomplice. The question was whether they considered there was sufficient evidence to go before a Com-

mon Jury. . The Grand Jury returned at ID.do ,).ni. with a true hill in the ease of Rex v. Gibbons. REX v. G1,I!1!0N>. Basil Charles Gibbons was charged with breaking by night the place of Peter Stephens, and with, theft of (roods; further with theft of goods: and further with receiving the said goods knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. Accused pleaded not guilty. Mr J. Hannan appeared for the accused and Mr Bark for the
