About throe months ago the Dunedin confectionery manufacturers decided to make snhstantial reductions in the prices of various lines of chocolates in order to meet competition from British and foreign concerns (says the “Otago Daily Times"). That their decision was a wise one is shown hv the fact that the demand for the imported article is practically non-existent at the present time. A large retailer mentioned today that a few months ago he disposed of a box of a certain Swiss line of chocolate tablets a week, whereas now he estimates that the same quantity would last three months.
