A correspondent with the Kiangsu army says undoubtedly (leiteral Chi (Governor of Kinngsii) is determined to break through at llpangtii, where there is a bigger eoneeiitratioii of .Kiaiig.su troops than anywhere- else on the whole front, and to which reinforcements are constantly being sent. Chekiang forces (under General Jill) although always lacing odds, occupy ail easily dolelisible position between two creeks, westwards and eastwards of the railway station. The fiercest fighting on the whole I rout has taken place in this sector where the Kiangsu forces so far have sobered at least two thousand casualties. Kiangsu troops twice captured the station, hut each time it was retaken.
