A point of importance to the small Fire Hoards of the Dominion came l>oInre the Daiinevirke Hoard when an intimation was received from the Fn-der-Secretary of Internal Affairs tliat it is illegal for a Hoard to create a reserve fund, h.v setting aside money each year with a view to the eventual installation of a street lire alarm system,. On the other hand, it was pointed out by a member, that the Hoard could borrow to carry out the work. An intimation was received from the Minster that lie hoped to bring down amending legislation this .session, which would permit the creation of a reserve fund out of the capita! expenditure acciiunt.
