The Lyttelton • ’limes" reports that the prevalence of measles among the younger children in the Beckenham and East Christchurch schools resulted in the lower departments being dismissed as soon as the schools assent hied on Monday morning alter the term holidays. So far. there is no indication of a necessity to close the upper departments. It was reported that a nmnher of children from the I.inwood, Richmond and Waltham schools were suffering from the complaint, but in the meantime those schools intend to carry on.
