At the usual fortnightly fixture held yesterday in the above yards, (!0 fat sheep and 70 fat cattle were offered at public competition to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition for beef showed an improvement and prices ranged for prime ox from .‘lds to fiSs per hundred, the quality of which was till that could he desired. Heifer beef offered was of excellent quality and ranged from 28s to fils (id per hundred.

Messrs AI. Houston and Co., report: At the above sale yesterday our entry comprised 50 fat cattle and 0 forward store bullocks. The usual buyers were present- and c-cm.petit.ion was keen throughout, prices rotnrded showing an advance of 2s fid to 5s per hundred on those of the previous fortnight. Ox beef realised from fiOs to ,15s per hundred.
