At the suggestion of Mr Willord the Premier agreed to increase the salary of the Commissioner of Taxes.
Mr Midland thereupon proposed to reduce the vote for the Department of L'll),7(>l hv L'l. as an indication that all salaries ot L* 110 and under be restored to pre-war standard. This, on a division was lost hv 111 to Pi. The vote was agreed to.
On the Stamp Duties Department vote of C7A.527. Mr Willord moved a reduction of L'l an indication that the "cut" in the salaries of C'22o and under he reinstated. I his, on a division. was lost hv 22 to 21 and the vote passed. The Committee nns-etl, also, a vote ■ f C 222.111111 for the National ProvidentFund Department. The House adjourned at 0.2 > till 2.20 on Tuesday.
