The visiting Roefton school team placed basket ball at Victoria •School yesterday, when tbo Hokitika team won by 20 to 13. Last night the visitors were entertained at a social at the .Soldiers’ Hall.
The decorations for the Hospital Ball this year promise to eclipse.anything previously seen in Hokitika. Greenerv. mirrors, flags, as well as bunting and streamers of all shades will be used and tbe Drill Hall on Wednesday night should present a very gay appearance. The decorating will be under the supervision of Airs I'rquhart. assisted by -Misses Aitken. ■Stevenson. King and h. bane. An arrangement has been made with the Kanicri Fleetric Company to provide extra lights for the occasion, an item which will no doubt be much appreciated by patrons and add greatly to the attractions ot the Ball.
