The teeling of the meeting was that the figures of the Department did not correspond with local experience. Alter a discussion it was resolved to ask for a through passenger train between Hokitika Htnl Gioymouth eliminating the change over at Kumara. and so saving hy dropping goods traffic, fully halt an hour on the journey: the suggested alteration to he tried experimentally on Saturday mornings and afternoons in eonneclioii with the ('liristc hureh service.

The President said certain imjirovements were to lie cllected to the' railway station which would he appreciated by the townspeople.
