A meeting of the Committee of the above was belli at tbe Soldiers’ Hall lust evening at 7 o’clock. Present: Messrs T’.vans (President). Moore. Lynch. Brown. Bain. Tomlinson, Slut ml and Patterson. Tenders for painting the interior of the hall were opened as follows: l.vnch Bins. CIO Ins: Fraser and Hoss L*c*2; V. Seott. £nn. The lowest tender was accepted, the work to commence on the 2*"hli inst.
In view of the Juvenile Fancy Dross Ball on the 28th. inst. in aid of the Hospital funds, it was resolved not to hold the usual euchre tournament that week.
Air Patterson reported regarding the sale of art union tickets. A large number were 1/oiug disposed (ii in the country districts by Air H bodes. It was decided to meet again oil Tuesday night at 8 o'clock to arrange a further distribution ol tickets. Flic art union will he drawn on Tuesday. Sept. .50. Tin* proceeds will be devoted (*» the building fund. It was reported the filial payment on the purchase *d the ball had now been made. The matter of the purchase of a piano was deferred to a later meeting. A suggestion was made to hold regular social gatherings lot* soldiers and their friends. The matter will be taken up next monthly meeting. It was resolved to ask the Secretary to supply till membership returns liy Tuesday next, and £■> was passed for pa vine ot on account of capitation dues. It was decided to arrange to pay oil the balance ol tin* dues as early as possible. AH* Bain reported the net profit from the late bazaar was £7B 18s Ad. which under all the circumstances was considered very satisfactory. 'Flu* question of the general accounts was discussed, the Secretary to supply particulars of as.-vts and liabilities. and tin* President to report at Ttlesdav night's meeting.
