Fur the month of July the eon tractor for gravel supply has delivered between six and seven hundred loads of shingle and grave! to Stalford, Kitzherhert. Park. Weld. Sale and Sewell Sts. and Gibson's Quay. Most of the streets are now in fair order with the exception of those used for heavy motor trallie, and if heavy trallie was diverted to special streets, the upkeep would tie considerably lessened. During the month two trips have been made along the pipe line, from the Reservoir, and air valves and several small leaks located, and stopped, the supply being well maintained. Four connections to resiliences have heen made with Sale St. drain, four i mil earthenware pipes being used, each connection being more than one chain in length. One residence has also been connected with Rolleston St. drain.
Kt itpnths have been cleaned in Hall Street from Stall,*rd to Bark Street, Sewell St. from Weld to Tudor St., and a line of new fnotnaths from Bark St. towards the Terrace, cleared of blackberry and scrub. Water Service.- During the month an unsual number of leaks have been attended to and several lire plugs lilted and washers renewed. The cemetery has heen visited, several foci paths in the old ground have heen cleared up and are now ready to he gravelled to stop any W'W growth that' may Miring up. These paths are mostly in their natural state, never having been gravelled, and in wet wett I Iter will become dirty. Several small repairs are ri',|tiit’i'd inside ihe Sexton's residence.
During tlie month four new connections have h""ii made, three to business places and to a private residence. The usual street cleaning and maintenance work has also been attended to during the month.
