Hariv Joseph Peters Kvti'di (also known as Harms Joseph Patrick Keogh) aged 42. of S 7 Fra.ikIvn Road, is in custody on a charge ol murder. Mrs Keogh was out working and the eldest girl, aged 01 veais was at s-lionl, leaving Keogh, with three younger girl- and Desmond at home. When Mrs Keogh returned with the eldest daughter at about J.MO p.m.. she .aiiiixl the body in the cot in the bedr,;om covered with a rug. Keogh was silting in the kit' hen. and immediately she went in, lie stated: '‘l’ve killed Desmond." He pointed to a knite. ami said "I did it with that.” 'iLo eldest girl immediately went lor the police, and it is slated that, when arrested. SHOP ASSISTANT'S AWARD. WELLINGTON. August 5
At the Arbitration Court to-day. an application was made on bchnli of Employers’ Association to amend the Dominion Shop Assistants’ nwaid to ensure a provision in section 5 of the Shops and Offices’ Act. that fifteen minutes shall be allowed after the closing hour, as provided for in the award, for the purpose of completing any work prior to the hour of ceasing work.
The application was strenuously opposed by tile Shop Assistants I*ederation. who pointed out- that assistants could he worked up to six o'clock prove.!, d overtime wore paid. The Court reserved its decision.
