The newspapers acknowledge that the Olympic Games were not a success, and the general management’s errors of organisation are severely criticised. It appears to he generally agreed that the games are too long drawn out. and it is suggested that a more severe quali'icatiou test should be set competitors with ft view to eliminating all those whose certified achievements <h> not truly come up to Olympic standard. A number of competitors would thus he reduced to a quarter, thus obviating delays and ensuring a superior quality of sport.
