Consequently the linal range lacked thrill. ft was soon evident, from the consistency of the Australians at every round, that they would win very easily. Though not a surprise, (rreat enthusiasm was shown when it was announced that they had won by thirty-two points. The Africans were the first to congratulate the winners.
Sir \V. .Richardson, in the name of the Association, congratulated the win ners. lie said the match had heen remarkable from many aspects, especially in regard to records made, of which Sheariii's feat in missing the hulls-eye only seven times in the whole match was the most outstanding. It was romarkahle, too, that India's aggregate was Australia’s winning score in IHIKh The winners score of 221* was easily a record.
Lord Richardson handed over the trophy, Mr lllacklow respondin'!. Individual Australian scores at the 1000yds were: Uryan AO: Shannon. Shearin and Addison, IS: ( yte and Matthews, -17; McNaughlou 11. KM I’IRK MATCH. LONDON, July 22. At Bisley in the Kmpire Match, the scores at the end of the 000 yards were: Australia 1133, South Africa 1123. Canada llf>o. Mother Country 1003, India 10SL The scores at the end of the 000yds in the Kmpire match were:—Australia 137-1, South Africa 1977. Britain 1927. Canada 1320, Tmlia 1779.
