DELEGATION TO AFRICA. WELLINGTON, July 15.
The Hon A. F. Hawke, .M.L.C., Invercargill, has I teen chosen to represent the Legislative Council in the New Zealand Parliamentary delegation to South Africa. The Reform Party, at a meeting held during tho supper adjournment, tonight. selected Sir John for Wellington North, and the* Liberal Party Mr James Horn, the member for Wakatipu and Chief Whip of the partv. The Labour Party’s representative will lie Mr E. J. Howard, the memlter for C'bristcburcli South. The expenses of the party will he paid by the South African Government.

A jockey named Harold Norman Wiggins, who was recently deprived of his civil rights for ten years, applied at the Court to-day for a re-hearing. It was stated at the hearing that Wiggins who is ID years old, pleaded as an excuse fur failing to attend drill that lie was often away from Auckland, whereas the real reason was that ho melfred frimS physical fatigue as the result of rheumatic fever and cardiac trouble in 1923. A lad aged 12 years, Richard Tlmmas .Marshall, of Arundel died to-day from injuries received through a log, which ho was assisting to haul on a lorry, rolling on him.
