WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. At a meeting of the Committee of the West Coast Rugby Union held last evening at Grey mouth, a letter was received from the Buller Union protesting over the West Coast Rugby l nion's refusal to accept July 12, as the date for return match, and it was resolved to reply that the West Coast Rugby Union regret the circumstances, hut pointing out that it was absolutely impossible to play Buller on the date suggested by them. A letter was received li'om the Canterbury Union, suggesting September 13th.. as the date for the proposed match with them. It was decided to deter the matter until after the Beddon Shield match. A iei|iiest was also received from the Marlborough I uinn asking tor a mutvh whilst the Coast team are on their Sodden Shield tour to Motueka, but it was decided to advise that there was no possible chance of arranging ihe match. From names submitted by the Westland Sub-union. Mr E. W. Heenan was appointed as referee for the junior representative match next Saturday. Grey v. Ross, which was ordered to be replayed, was received. and alter going into the evidence thoroughly, the following "was arrived at:
