On Kritlay evening .McLean's Pictures present (hiretli Hughes in a George Maker production, "Don’t Write Letters.” The story tells of how he wanted to lie a hero to the girl hack home whom he had never met. Unfortunately the »work assigned to him in Kranee was that of cook. Vet that didn’t prevent him from writing glowing letters extolling Ills own bravery to the skies. Vet he had to fine the girl and tell her the truth about himself when he was seat home again. She believed the soldier she was corresponding with to bo n tall, handsome Westerner, daily facing danger in the trenches. He proved to be a short, iinronnintie cook who had written many letters to her about his exploits in France. His lies to her prevented hint from making love to her when lie arrived home again. Hobby Jonks caused the girl whom lie was corresponding from Kranee to believe that he was a brave and fearless soldier, continually facing death in its most terrible forms. Slit* did nut know that his hardest work actually was handling a hot roasting pan as cool;. When the truth was told she decided that oven though he had written many falsehoods in his letters, he w.is still good enough for her.
