The minutes were ronlirmod and outward correspondence approved. VOTM OF UONDOLKNCF. Tito Chairman referred to the loss their fellow member. Air T. W. Duff had sustained by the death of his sister, and moved that a letter of condolence he sent to him. Seconded by Mr Wells and carried in silence. IXWAIt D CORK KSPOXDKNCK. From Sir Maui I’omare. Wellington, stating that Cabinet had decided to make a grant of £2OOO towards capial expenditure at Westland Hospital. Received. The Chairman expressed his pleasure at the decision of the Cabinet. Ife moved that a very hearty vote of thanks be passed to the Minister for the grant made. Seconded by Mr Meharry and carried, From Dr Valiutine, Wellington, in reference to the proposal to remove Totara Hospital to Westland Hospital for use as a maternity home, stating he cotdd not approve of the proposal, but suggested the present hospital at Ross be prepared as a maternity hospital, and it might serve for the time being, til! an up-to-date maternity hospital is erected at. Hokitika. — Received. Consideration deferred pending receipt oi report til Dr Gillette, a recently appointed ofliecr to take charge of maternity hospitals.
