Wild stories of terrible bloodshed in Sao Paula are reaching here, despite the Government assurances that the rebellion is practically crushed. Two tourists declare that the number killed exceeds two thousand. They allege the rebels have a well trained army ol 20,(MX) ready to march towards Rio do Janeiro when the opportunity arises.
