EGYPTIAN PREMIER. SHOT AT.

Zaghlottl Pasha was slightly wounded on the right of his chest at the railway station by a revolver sliot when starting for Alexandria to attend a royal reception. The assailant was with difficulty protected from the enraged tnoli. He was put on the train which was hurried out of the station. Gaghloul’.s assailant is a studnt named Ahellatif Abkdelkhadir and ho arrived in Cairo in June from Germany. He was injured liy the crowd, who tried to storm the carriage, where he was protected by the police, in order to lynch him. Zagldul is now in a private hospital. Bulletins regarding his condition are reassuring. McLaren's flight. (Received this day at 9 a.m.) TOKIO. Huly 12. McLaren left Kastimigaura for Mitiato but owing to trouble with the cooling apparatus he returned to Kasumigaura and is expected to restart to-morrow.
HINDUS AND MOSLEMS FIGHT

Severe lighting occurred between Hindus and Mussulmans, which spread all over the city. Seven persons, are reported killed anil the police are patrolling with -armoured cars.. Towards evening the situation became quieter. All shows in the city, and the principal public gardens are closed. Precautions arc being taken .to prevent further rioting.
The cause of the disturbance is attributed to the Hindus objecting to a Maliommcdan hoy drawing water from a particular well. The hoy was severely belaboured and subsequently died in the hospital.
HUGE FRAUDS. LONDON. July 12 The "Daily Express’’ says;'.Scotland Yard is preparing a series of “Longfirm” fraud prosecutions. Within three or four years, twenty three millions sterling, has boon obtained through “Longlirin” frauds and bogus bankruptcies. Indisputably ninety percent of the money has gone to RussianPoles, trading under an English name. UNREST IN JAPAN

CONFERENCE AND DOMINIONS

Sir Joseph Cook and Sir James Allen (Australasian High Commissioners* had a four-hours conference with Mr R. AlacDonlad (Prime Alinister) on the question of Dominion .representation at the Allied-Conlereuce on July Lltli in London. Mr MacDonald fulfc' explained the subjects that are listed tor .consideration. No decision, however, was aiinoiinceiL Tin* High Commissioners refused to make any statement. It is understood that they are seeking lor instructions from their respective Governments.
REBELS RULE SAO PAULO. BUENOS AIRES, July 11
The Brazilian rebels control Sao Paulo. The State Government has been deposed. The Revolutionary Junta, headed by General iTdndon, has formed a temporary Government. According to a report, there is also an uprising in the State of Parana. It ix reported that rebel forces from there ale marching to aid the iiisuireciionarv movement.
SITUATION UNCERTAIN. GU.ENOS AIRES, July 11
A total of four hundred civilians were killed during the lighting ill the Sao Paulo insurrection according to reliable advices from Santos,' giving the American Consul there as the authority for the estimate of the dead. A virtual state of civil war lippears to have resulted from the insurrection, hut the strict censorship prevents an accurate appraisal of the situation.
