HALIFAX (Xovia Scotia), July 10
Pirates boarded the French steamer Alalhouse and stole live hundred thousand dollars worth of liquor, and some ea.sli, according to Captain Perrins and the crew. The Captain declared that ••High Jacket's" drove the crew below, manacling the officers, and kept them prisoners for ten days while they unloaded 88,200 eases of liquor into the boats. The owners of the Alalhouse are investigating.

According to an unccusored message from Sao I’aulo, where the position is increasingly grave, the entire city is reported to bo in the hands of the rebels. Official Government bulletins represent the revolt as nearly over, while refugees on the. other hand, declare the rebels are arranging details for the formation of a new Government. Another report states the revoluA tionaries have deposed the State Government and are now marching on Parana hoping to unite with the reltel forces there, and then invade the other States.
