SCHOOLS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT. SELECTION OF LOCAL BOYS. TRIAL MATCH SATURDAY. During the second term vacation of last year the West Coast Primary Sc hools Reps were sent to take part in the South Island Primary Schools’ In-ter-Provincial Rugby Tournament. Despite the fact that the team had not played together before reaching Christchurch—where the tournament was held—then - did remarkably well and sueecded in playing a draw n game with tho previous winners , Canterbury. This year the tournament is to take place in Invercargill and every effort is being made to get away the strongest available team. With tlio object of trying out the hoys it is the intention to play a number of trial games, and the first of these will lie at Hokitika on Saturday morning when the town schools will play the com.try. On the form displayed that day a team will he selected to travel to Grcinotith where it is hoped to Imvo hoys from all parts of tho Coast- in action on the following Saturday. Any teacher or football enthusiast, who knows of a primary school hoy under fist. 7lbs. and likely to he worthy of selection in the Country team, should make it point of having the hoy on Cas.s Square iif 10 a.m. on Saturday next.
