ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. BEEF MARKET FIRM. For tho usual fixture at Arahura today, GO head of fat cattle, 19 vealers, and 57 wethers were offered to competition. There was a representative attendance of Coast buyers who had tho choice of probably the best yarding of finished cattle tills year. In consequence prices firmed considerably and bullocks matin front £1 to 30s per head advance compared with previous sales. Prime ox which comprised the hulk of the yarding made from 33s to 35s per hundred, while lighter finished sorts sold even better, making as high as 37s per hundred. Heifer beef made from 30s to 34s per hundred and a fairly large yarding of vealers ranged from 2Gs to 31s per hundred. The top price wus £lO for a prime ox sold by AH Donovan whose entry was most favourably commented upon for finish and quality. Alntton sold in the range of Old to 7d per lb.

June, 1924 from Argentine and Uruguay:— 321 quarters of chilled heel and 57.21u quarters of frozen beef. 00,325 carcases of frozen mutton and 80,845 carcases of frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled:—lo3.oso quarters of frozen beef and 1,930 carcases of frozen mutton.
