WESTLAND SUB-UNION. MONDAY, July 7. The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Present:—Alessrs F. AlcGrcgor (Chairman), Stafford, Bannister, Woods, Breeze, Dowell, Cutlnish, Coulson, Ilowal, and Ileenan. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWAR I) CORRESPONDENCE. From G. McKay and Lou Robertson asking for transfer from Ilarihari to Kokatahi Club.—Received and request granted.

G. Tainui waited on the Union in reference to Ilia Arahura-Ross match and explained the attitude of the Arahura Club. He slated during a line out he. heard the Ross captain ask the referee to call the game off and later the referee blew his whistle. 11c (lid not think it was possible to play for another ten minutes as it was getting very dark. Had the referee not called the game off the players would have continued. The (Tub was not prepared to replay the game. They had been late in arriving at Ross owing to their car breaking down. After discussion it was resolved on the motion of Alessrs Coulson and Cutl.usli that the Arahura-Ross match lie replayed, an amendment to refer the matter to the West Coast Rugby Union for advice being lost.

It was resolved to grant the Ladies’ Hockey Club a donation from the gate takings.

Westland he jiliiyed if the Grey Union would arrange same. —Seconded by M,r Dowell and carried. It was resolved to write the Duller Union asking for a return match at Hokitika this season.

It was resolved that the Sub-Union join the Citizens Committee in arranging a fitting farewell to J. Steel, the West Coast All Black.
