Mil .JONES’ INDIGNANT REPLIES.

A fontmv of the Vuquier trial to-day ■vvas the duel lietween Mrs Jones and Sir Curtis Bennett. The former was in tlie witness box for seven hours and during a greater part ol the time she was subjected to a fierce cross examination. Sho gave many answers in a most indignant tone and declared that many statements were lies. Mrs Whitowick gave evidence for tins prosecution to the effect that she .-a" Mrs Jones come out of deceased’s room, immediately after his death carrying a .small purse. Mrs Jones went into the outhouse and emerging from there she dropped the purse. Witness picked it up and found it empty. When witness taxed Mrs Jones about it she replied that it had contained a photograph of Va(juicr which she was anxious to dcstro}'.
