VIOLA DANA TO-XIGIIT
This evening McLean’s Pictures present Viola Dana, who sets the pace to tiro goal of hilarity, and decidedly clever entertainment in her latest Metro production “Glass Houses.” Vivacious little Miss Dana is seen as dov Duval, who, with her sister, Cicil.v loses the money they had inherited, .lov makes herself up as a caricature office type in “sensible” clothes and horn-rimmed glasses, takes the name of “June Crown,” and hecamen a comt/rtiiion to Aunt Harriet-. The latter is mainly concerned with Ike reform of her nephew. Hilly Norton One night Jo.V slips to her (dd home to collect some valuables which she had left behind. Upon her return to Aunt Harriet’.* she finds herself locked out. so goes to I lie garage to sleep. There also is' Hilly Xortnn. and to avoid a scandal lie marries Joy. who. to hi.s delight, then appears in a .smart litile frock that sets ulf her chic beauty—quite different from the prim “June Brown.” Cot it is at this point that a lively series of sparkling adventures begin.
adventures that give Viola Dana the merriest role of her career. Appearing in “Glass Houses” with Miss Dana are Gaston Glass, Mayiuo IvcLo, Helen Lynch, Claire Du Urey. Ellsworth Gage ami John Stoppling. Harry Beaumont directed the production. Tile scenario is by Edith Kennedy, adapted from a story by C'lara Genevieve Kennedy. A good supporting programme includes an attractive comedy.
