WELLINGTON, June 2(1 The third session of the 21st Parliament opened this afternoon in fine hut hrec-jy weather. A large crowd assembled iu Parliament grounds to witness the arrival of the Governor-Gen-eral who inspected the Guard of Honour which was provided by the Wellington College cadets, lie then proceeded, attended by his staff, to the Legislative Council where he read the speech to members ol both Houses in the presence of a picturesque gathering of spectators who tilled all the galleries. The Governor-General took the chair in the Legislative '"ouncil Chambers at 2..‘i1l p.m., and read to the assembled Legislative Councillors and members of the llon.-e of Representatives the Speech from the Throne. When the House met there was .i full attendance of members, the busi-j ness of the session commencing with a sheaf of questions to .Ministers and notices of motion. -Mr llitchener gave notice of his in-1 tention to move that a respectful address lie presented to his. Excellency in reply to his speech. .Mr Willord intimated that lit- intended to move an amendment to the-Address-iii-Roply. Mr Siile.v gave notice of his inten-< lion to introduce a Summer Time Bill; and -Mr Willord. a Justice of the Peace I Amendment Bill. In reply to .Mr Willord. Mr Massey -aid an Imprest Supply Bill would lie brought down to-morrow. The House ro-e at .1.25 till 2..10 tomorrow.
