Considerable discussion took place. It. was resolved to write and ask if the district overlaps the Sul-union district as lar its the ’l l days rule concern* players. The referees reports were read and received as satisfactory. The liarihari Club notified that they would not ho able to take part in any further competition this sea'oti. —Received with regret. It. was resolved in challenge the West. Co asl Rugby ITiinii for a match for the Bittmann Shield, to he played at Hokitika on Saturday. July 3th.
A request for permission to play Col llowai for Rimu as liarihari had withdrawn was granted.

Juno 2J. The lirst Rugby League Test Australia v. England was played in line dull weather in the presente (if 00.000 people. The first hall was vet.v closely cot.tested, the Aiisltalians licrcely forcing ihe game which was not spectacular, and scoring the only try of the first half. The scores at half time being England four. Australia throe. England's score consisting of two penalty goals. Hlay so far had heen disappointing and very slow, and much below international form, hut Australia’s forwards were much superior to the visitors’ forwards.
The second half opened with Australia still attacking, hut the visitors hacks were too good, and towards the finish England took the game into their own hands and outplayed the locals, who slowed down and the visitors took command, eros'ing the line tour times, •fhe final scores were: England twentytwo. Australia three.

IMav was very fast in the second halt, Canada making a great effort in retrieve lost ground and rough play resulting. The half was evenly contested both sides scoring, hut the visitors Were unable to make tin lost gtound. The final scores were Australia four. Canada one.
