against wasting money on some reput ed pesl remedies now being offered, Froggart says regarding hardwood; that except where sapwood has heel used there is little or no daanger of serious damage truiii the powder pest beetle, lie recommends the applicntiou ol a mixture oi kerosene and crude creosote and considers that with ordinary precaution there is little danger id loreign timber borers gaining a foothold in Australian forests. SHIP DETAINED. SYDNEY, June 21. They refused the request, slating they were paid tile award rates.
