With referenee to Mr Rolleston’.* denial that he had been approached in connection with the suggested leadership of a new political party, the leader of the Opposition (Mr Wilford) made the following statement: —“ 1 unite believe that Mr Itolleston was never eonsulted by the “Southland News” and quite credit-his statement that he never heard of any move such as I outlined (-a Saturday.! have reason for stating That at the present time Prank Rollcston was the “ man from Galivay ” in the mind of the “ Sou thin ml News.” r mnintnin that the position is as I stated it to the “ Times ” representative on Saturday I have reason for. stating Mr Rolleston is willing to he used for purposes of the Southland News” merely because the “Southland News considers that Mr Rolleston will fil> the hill, hut tlio lesson of the great discovery, however, is this, that the new leader decided upon by the “ Southland News” has not been approached vet. and does not even .know of the great move which it is suggested will disintegrate the present Liberal Party. There was not much evidently to make a big story about, was there?
