HONOLULU MARU TO PAY SALVAGE. SYDNEY. June 20.
Tito Marine Court has awarded six thousand sterling salvage against the owners of the Honolulu Maru. Four thousand is to go to the owners of the tug Champion, and two thousand among the tug’s crew. Tlie report on ox-propriated properties and businesses in mandatory Now Guinea was tabled in the House of Representatives shows the estimated cash deficiency is £170.000 by the Expropriation Board bringing the total liability to £1.093.011 to the end of this month. It i.s expected tin’s will increase till 30th. June. 1927. after which an annual surplus is anticipated. Emphasis is laid on the unsatisfactory state of the copra market and the icpnrt says the near future of the torrtory depends greatly on an improved market.
