The position is that Hie stamp duty, though still payable at the rate of twopence per cheque . is no longer denoted hy an impression on li:icheque form, and persons handling cheques may - accept unstamped cheque's with confidence, that i- so far as the stamp duty i- concerned. The innovation is the result of suggestions made to the Government in expedite the issue of cheque lorms.
