Any real good quality held ils own but old cows and medium or inferior quality, was easier and towards the end ol the sale hard to quit and was quite 20s to 30s below last week’s rates. Combined with the very large yarding of mutton we are getting, butchers cannot absorb all the beef coming forward, consequently they can afford to pick and choose. .Mutton. A vo ry large yarding, ovory jion in this <lop;irtmoiil being occupied. Tlioro wore not so many wethers forward as lately and the quality all round was hardly as good. Tile sale opened spasmodieally not as good as last week but- afterwards improved and closed at about last week’s rate. Exporters were keen and outside butchers were also operating. In our opinion the market, was par to Is 7d easier than last sale. T’ritne wethers :tßs to Its, extra His to 50s; medium 33s od to .'l7s; others down to 30 s. l.amhs.—A fair yarding, blit the quality was very indifferent again, comprising mostly the tail end. Local exporters were keen especially on good quality and graziers were bidding freely on any unfinished sorts not up to freezing grades. There was a quotable change in the overall price.
