A telegram from Lily. Pennsylvania, says: I lie trial has successively proceeded of seventeen Kin Klux Khuismeii charged with the murder of three persons, as a result of Klu Klux Klan riots on April fi. It has already resulted in one acquittal, hut further riots and trouble were foreshadowed when the Klan sent letters threatening death to the prosecuting Attorney. Mr Weimer, if lie brings another Khmsman to trial. The acquitted Klansman has not boon released, since lie must ho tried three times on the three charges, and the prosecutor is determined to secure a conviction.
Attorney Weimer stressed the fact that thirteen townspeople also face murder trials as the result of their I’art in the disastrous warfare, and lie is determined to secure impartial jus- j tiee.
The State authorities have turned the local hotel into an arsenal, troopers, cavalry, machine guns, and much ammunition being available to prevent trouble. A religous fervour has now seized the Klan, and a revival service was held in the gaol where those imprisoned sang hymns and professed to lie converted.
