The corporation discussed the question of direct representation in Parliament of niaiiufaeturel••’ interests, and resolved:— “That this corporation. while against the creation of another party in parliament, desires direct representation of it.-, interests therein and urges the diilTrcnt industrial n.—.iciatioiis to trv to persuade some ot their members, acceptable to the respective political parties, to submit themselves ns prospective candidate- ; further that this corporation take steps to see that candidate--for Parliament are fully informed as to the needs of h eal manufacturers, and that suitable questions he stilsmitted to all such caudiatos with the object of ascertaining their attitude towards secondary industries.” 'The next conference and exhibition will he at Wellington.
