FOOTBALL.

WESTLAND SUB-UNION

SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Suls-Cliioii was held last night at 8 o’clock. Present:—Messrs F. McGregor (Chairman). Bannistur. Lynch. Moore, Is'vett. Stafford, Oiitbush, Dowell, C’oulsi.'ii and Fb W. Fleeuaii (Secretary). A letter was read from the Kokatalii Club in connection with the proposed third round, hut after. licing discussed it was withdrawn by the Knkatahi delegate by permission of tilmeeting.

A general discussion followed in reference to the play of further rounds among the senior teams.

Mr Cutluish then moved that the motion passed at the last meeting inaugurating a third’ round in the senior competition lie rescinded, and that th" Kiwi team he declared winners of the senior competition for 102-1. Seconded hv Mr Clltbush and carried. Mr Cutluish then moved that a now

competition for senior teams to consist of two rounds he commenced for a trophy to he won outright, commencing the next day (Saturday) with the Kiwi-Kokatahi game set down for Cass Square, and that the other fixtures he arranged For approval on Monday night next. Seconded by Mr 1). Dowell and carried.

The. meeting then terminated. JUDICIAL COMMITTEE. The Judicial Committee then met consisting of Messrs F. McGregor (chair), Benjamin and lteenan (Secretary). The case of (i. Taintli was considered. The referee (Mr A. J. Sumner reported as follows :—“lhe Arahura-l'.x-celsiur junior match took place on Saturday. June 7th. at l.A!) p.m. and ended A rah urn 10. Excelsior 8, hut tho time was not played out. 1 hail occasion to order otf tin* field G. lainui. for consistently disputing inv decisions. Ho refused to leave, so 1 would not let tho game proceed; subsequently the Araliura team left the field under orders from their captain (1. Tainui). I therefore awarded the game to Excelsiors.”

Neither the player or the referee at tended, and the Committee decided, in view of the very moderate report .submitted. to order Tainui to stand down for one playing Saturday. The meeting then terminated. The position of the teams in the senior competition are as follows: Points.
