CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SATE. CHRISTCHURCH, June 12 The end of the season wool sale was held to-day. the catalogue comprising 1021 hales, composed principally of stragglers’ wool, overgrown and with a heavy proportion of seed and moils. The balance was mostly erutchiiigs: pieces and lleccc wool being very lightly represented. Considering the condition of the catalogue. a strict comparison with previous sales is impossible, but. making allowance for this aspect, the -ale was fully equal to January and March rates, with an improvement in some eases. Oriitehings, particularly, met with an animated sale. llicre was a good bench of buyers. overseas operators, ns well as a strong circle of fellnmngers. being represented. There were no sales that c-luldislicd fresh standards so far as greasy wool wa- concerned, hut a New Zealand record was set for scoured -Merino, a hale of prize-winning wool, sold by the A. and I’. Society, making the lofty price of bO’d per lb.
